The Challenge

A city branch of a global organization was experiencing low sales and morale due to the bear market of the early 2000s.

  • The office leader was new, and his team lacked consensus about their strategic direction.
  • Employees needed a renewed sense of purpose and energy to current inertia and low morale.

Our role

We worked with office leaders to develop a revitalization plan and materials to:

  • Identify barriers to their effectiveness, clarify roles and responsibilities, and gain consensus about how they would refocus direction.
  • Plan and facilitate a series of employees workshops to develop a new mission statement and ideas for engaging the entire employee population.

Results

  • Consensus among client managers about new roles and responsibilities, which allowed the practice as a whole to confidently and clearly communicate how they would interact.
  • Renewed energy across the organization as employees took ownership for the new mission and began to drive several new initiatives to increase communication across silos, recognize employee contributions, and enhance personal learning and development opportunities.
