The Challenge

A Midwest manufacturing company hired Cap Gemini to help them develop a turnaround strategy to improve their position in the marketplace. They called this process their transformation Map (T-Map). Although the senior leadership team embraced the T-Map process, front-line leaders were confused both about how to execute and how to translate the T-Map into actions that made sense to their employees and the work they did on a daily basis.

Our role

I worked with the business unit executive team to develop a revitalization plan and outcomes, speeches, and workshop materials to help the top 100 leaders align business unit, department, and employee objectives to the overall strategy to ensure a clear, unified focus.

Results

  • A measurable increase in awareness and energy around personal accountability for executing key actions, both on a leadership and individual employee level.
  • Monthly business metrics showed a steady improvement around key T-Map objectives because people understood how they could personally impact results.
  • During this period, the overall company achieved a 22% increase in billings and a 43% increase in net earnings.
